Yom Kippur Events & Services

  • September 24 @ 8:00 PM: Kol Nidre Service

    Hear the stirring melody of Kol Nidre as we focus our prayers and contemplate teshuvah /repentance as a path toward personal transformation.  This service is open to those of all ages although it is geared towards adults in our community.  In-person and on Zoom.

  • September 25 @ 10:00 AM: Community Yom Kippur Service

    This service includes a Yom Kippur morning Torah service and will be hosted in our beautiful sanctuary and on Zoom. This service is open to all ages but will be geared towards adults.

  • September 25 @ 11:00 AM: Yom Kippur Tot Experience

    Please join Morah Barbara at Beth Chaim for an interactive tot experience on Yom Kippur. Fun for the whole family! Pre-registration is requested.

  • September 25 @ 12:30 PM: Yom Kippur Family Experience

    Our family services will be interactive and will feature a project. Pre-registration is requested for all services but in particular for the family experience, it is important to pre-register so that we can make sure you have access to the project materials.  The theme is growing through doing hard things. This experience is geared toward school-aged children in our community.

  • September 25 @ 2:00 PM: RAC-PA Zoom Discussion

    This discussion will link the Gun Violence Prevention campaign to High Holy Day themes. Read more about the event here!

  • September 25 @ 3:00 PM: Song Circle in the Sanctuary

    We will be holding a song circle in our beautiful sanctuary. All ages are welcome to join us in song!

  • September 25 @ 4:00 PM: Reading and Impact of the Book of Jonah 

    Participate in a meaningful reading and discussion of what may have been the original fish story. The spotlight will be on our Beth Chaim readers and the themes of social responsibility and transformation that are prevalent in this classic Yom Kippur Haftarah text. 

  • September 25 @ 5:00 PM: Yizkor Followed by Neila and Havdalah

    Our community stands united with those who are grieving. Join us as we each light a candle to remember those in our lives who have passed away but left us their gifts of love. Our service includes psalms and prayers as well as a special Yizkor presentation honoring the loved ones of members of our community.  Yizkor is followed by Neila which is the service that marks the symbolic closing of the Gates of Repentance.  Give yourself the gift of following the arc of these High Holidays to the end with this meaningful closing service which will feature a closing blast of the shofar, followed by Havdalah and Break the Fast meal. These services are geared towards adults although it is powerful for children to be present at the end of Neila for Havdalah. 

  • September 25 @ 6:30 PM: Break the Fast Together

    Break the fast with us at Beth Chaim with a catered meal from Hymies! Registration is closed.
