Podcast Discussion: Rabbi Sharon Brous: Ban the Bible - A Yom Kippur Sermon

Why do people want to ban books? What is the motivation behind this current push to take books out of school and libraries? Who gets to determine why a book is banned or challenged?

This session we will discuss Rabbi Sharon Brous’s Yom Kippur sermon on book banning and the consequential effect it can have on our ability to connect with people who have different stories than our own. As Rabbi Brous mentions in her sermon, Heinrich Heine wrote (well before the banning and burning of books in Germany) that where books are burned, people will be burned. Listen and come share your thoughts about banned books.
